Mariah Carey 'Planning West End Remake Of Marilyn Monroe Film'

December 29, 2008
Mariah Carey 'Planning West End Remake Of Marilyn Monroe Film'Mariah Carey has spoken of her ambition to bring a new musical to the West End stage.

The singer is said to be planning a theatre version of the Marilyn Monroe movie The Prince and the Showgirl.

Carey, who owns the rights to the film, told the Daily Star newspaper: “I like the idea of doing it but it’s all down to the time – you have to commit for a rather long time and now is really hard for me.

“But it’s a dream that I want to achieve in the future.”

As previously reported, Carey’s recent album title, ‘E=MC2’, has been described as "misleading" by scientists.

A new study rubbished Carey’s claim that the title stands for “emancipation equals Mariah Carey times two”.

Meanwhile, Carey spent the Christmas holidays with her husband Nick Cannon in Aspen.
