Friendly Fires Are Halfway Through Recording Second AlbumMarch 12, 2010
Friendly Fires have already recorded half of their second album, singer Ed Macfarlane has revealed.
Macfarlane described the new tracks as “more focussed” and “a lot thicker” than songs on the band's 2008 self-titled debut. But he admitted that they were still unsure when to release their next effort. "This next record, we don't want to wait too long that people forget about us, but we don't want to rush out an album we're not happy with,” he told BBC Newsbeat. "So we're going to have to try and get the happy medium. "We've got about five tracks done already. It's sounding really good. I can't wait to start playing it live." Friendly Fires are working with producer Paul Epworth on the record. Meanwhile, the band are set headline this summer's Camp Bestival festival in Dorset.
