Bruce Springsteen Collects Kennedy Center Honour From Barack ObamaDecember 7, 2009
Bruce Springsteen has collected a Kennedy Center award, which honours contribution to US culture, at the White House.
The 60-year-old singer was presented with the prize by President Barack Obama during a reception ceremony on Sunday. As he introduced Springsteen, Obama said: "I'm the president but he's the boss.” Springsteen told the audience he had worked “really hard” to ensure his music was “part of American life and our fans' lives”. Actor Robert De Niro and comedian Mel Brooks were among the other recipients of the Kennedy Center award. The ceremony will be broadcast in the US on December 29.
