Interpol To Record New Material This AutumnApril 9, 2008
Interpol’s drummer Sam Fogarino has revealed that the band hope to record new material this autumn.
Speaking to Billboard, Fogarino said that the group “are all getting ready to get back into" recording again following a year of touring. "I'm guessing in the fall we'll get together and start hearing what [guitarist] Daniel [Kessler]'s been up to," he said. Fogarino also admitted that the band’s latest album, ‘Our Love To Admire’, had “rattled the foundations” of the group. The drummer said that the record, which has failed to achieve the sales success of their previous albums, had been a big turning point for the band “internally, as well as creatively." "Switching labels and working with a co-producer, and not working at Peter [Katis]' studio, it was all these new firsts all at one time," he said. "It rattled the foundations a little bit. Never to the extreme, but things finally felt realistic. The first two albums were kind of a blur. “We could never believe what was going on. Now our feet are touching the ground."
