Interpol Bassist Carlos D Quits BandMay 10, 2010
Interpol bassist Carlos D has quit the band ahead of the release of their new album.
In a statement on their website, Interpol said Carlos D made the announcement after work had been completed on their new record. “He has decided to follow another path, and to pursue new goals,” the band said. “This separation is amicable, and we whole-heartedly wish him great happiness and success. “We will remain, as always, deeply respectful fans of this blazingly talented individual.” Meanwhile, Interpol said their as-yet-untitled new album was recorded at Electric Lady Studios, New York, and mixed with Alan Moulder at Assault and Battery, London. They described it as a “heavy record”, and revealed that a series of summer tour are to be announced in the coming weeks. Interpol added that a series of "illustrious players" would be joining them on tour in place of Carlos D. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Interpol Bassist Dave Pajo Quits (01.03.2011)
