Guns N' Roses, Blink-182, Arcade Fire To Headline Reading and Leeds Festivals?March 24, 2010
Guns N' Roses, Blink-182 and Arcade Fire are rumoured to be headlining the Reading and Leeds Festivals this summer.
Although there is no line-up confirmation from the festivals ahead of the official announcement on Monday (March 29), the rumours on music forums and more reputable websites all seem to have some grounding. Metal Hammer and Metro.co.uk are both claiming Guns N' Roses will head over to these shores eight years after their Leeds only appearance in 2002. Meanwhile, in February Travis Barker fuelled speculation that Blink-182 are playing Reading and Leeds when he said: “We go to Europe in August for all the festivals ... we do, like, six weeks out there, and then our album will come out probably early next year.” With Arcade Fire already confirmed for Oxegen in July, the Canadian collective look certain to have a busy festival season too. If true, the line-up fits nicely with a tweet from Bestival curator Rob Da Bank last week which reads: “Just heard reading headliners...been sworn to secrecy but hilarious juxtaposition of 3 nights...unlikely bedfellows :)” Other acts rumoured for Reading and Leeds are The Libertines, Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Hole and The Maccabees. The Reading and Leeds Festivals take place over the weekend of August 27th to the 29th 2010. (by Scott Colothan) See also: Blink-182 Postpone UK And Ireland Tour Until 2012 (18.04.2011)
