Guns N Roses To Release New Song In September?July 14, 2008
Guns N' Roses will release their first new song in over a decade this autumn, according to reports.
The song, entitled 'Shackler's Revenge', will apparently feature on a new edition of the video game Rock Band, which is set to be unveiled later today (July 14th). The reports in today's New York Times suggest that the band are closer to releasing their long-awaited new studio album 'Chinese Democracy'. The album has been in production for over 14 years and is understood to have cost frontman Axl Rose $2milllion. Last month, a number of songs, purported to be finished edits, appeared online. The bands decision to release a song via the game appears to show their acknowledgement of the growing importance of the video game industry. In recent months the popularity of games like Rock Band and its main rival Guitar Hero has exploded, thanks largely to special editions of the game. Both games also allow users to download exclusive songs by the artists as they play along. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Guns N Roses Turn Down Glee Offer (19.01.2011)
