U2 Promise 'Glastonbury On Steroids' Performance

April 28, 2011
U2 Promise 'Glastonbury On Steroids' PerformanceU2 have promised that their headline slot at this year's Glastonbury festival will be "very un-Glastonbury".

The Irish band will top the bill on the Pyramid Stage on the opening night of the event, which runs from June 24-26. They pulled out of last year's festival after Bono injured his back.

Bassist Adam Clayton told Q magazine their performance would be like "Glastonbury on steroids".

"It's very un-Glastonbury to have a big production, but we will be sneaking a few things in through the back gate which will hopefully make the experience a little more like Glastonbury on steroids," he said.

"We're stretching the levels of what can be done. We hope to create a mind blowing experience that reacts well with all the other substances involved."

Beyonce and Coldplay will also headline this year's bash. Tickets have already sold out.
