Amy Winehouse Booed As She Plays Dubai Gig

February 12, 2011
Amy Winehouse Booed As She Plays Dubai GigAmy Winehouse was booed as she performed a special one-off gig in Dubai last night (February 11).

The singer appeared to struggle through her performance of ‘Rehab’ at Gulf Bike Week, twiddling with her hair and touching her wrists.

Video footage, which can be viewed below, shows the crowd growing increasingly restless with the star.

As Winehouse concludes the song she appears to hear the boos and tells the audience: “Do you wanna be in the band?

“I said, do you wanna be in the band? That’s what I thought.”

A spokesperson for the singer told Gigwise: "Unfortunately, Amy's in ear monitors weren't working so she couldn't hear herself while singing.

"This meant some songs being cut short, leaving the stage for a bit to see if they could be fixed and handing over to her backing singer Zalon to sing one more song than he usually would."

He added that the audience was unaware of the problem.

Gulf Bike Week was also due to feature a performance from Pharrell Williams and N.E.R.D on Thursday (February 10). Amy Winehouse in Dubai:
