Roger Daltrey: 'The Who Greatest Hits Tour Would Bore Me Sh*tless'

October 1, 2010
Roger Daltrey: 'The Who Greatest Hits Tour Would Bore Me Sh*tless'The Who's Roger Daltrey has said it is unlikely the band will ever embark on a greatest hits tour because it would “bore me sh*tless”.

In an interview with TheWho.com, the singer said he couldn't imagine only playing the group's biggest hits every night.

“We have thought about that, but what is a greatest hits show? All the hits and nothing else, and none of the obscure?” he said.

“That would bore me sh*tless. That's the trouble with all of it. If we did a greatest hits tour, everybody would say: ‘We’re bored with that, give us something else.’ We can never please everybody.”

Daltrey admitted that he would like to tour “as many different shows as we could”, adding: “Maybe doing 'Quadrophenia' one night, do greatest hits the next night - this is what I would like to do."

Meanwhile, the singer also revealed that The Who were in the “planning stages” for next year and that 2011 would be “based around past work”.
