N-Dubz' Dappy: 'You Have To Try Drugs To Understand They're Bad'

April 29, 2010
N-Dubz' Dappy: 'You Have To Try Drugs To Understand They're Bad'N-Dubz star Dappy landed in more trouble yesterday when he spoke on live television about using club drug meow meow in a nightclub.

The troubled singer took the drug three weeks before it was made illegal and was shamed live on the GMTV sofa by Andrew Castle.

22-year-old Dappy – real name Costas Dinos Contostavlos – told the presenter that “you have to try anything” once to understand how bad it is.

He was bailed out by his bandmate Fazer who interjected “Not always.”

Having already issued an apology to N-Dubz fans, Dappy told Castle: "I want to say genuinely I'm more than glad they've banned this thing because I can see how many people are dying of it."

"Do you know what it was? It was a night out. It was just a bit tipsy and it just fell into the wrong place at the wrong time."

“I don't think I'll touch any silly stuff again."

He then slipped up, saying: "You know you have to try things to understand that they're bad."

In January, Dappy hit the headlines when he sent a death threat text to a Radio 1 listener who had criticised him on the Chris Moyles show.
