Ke$ha Gives Susan Boyle A Nightmare On US Chart

January 14, 2010
Ke$ha Gives Susan Boyle A Nightmare On US ChartKe$ha has knocked Susan Boyle off the top of the US album chart, ending the Scottish singer's six week reign at number one.

The 22-year-old singer debut album 'Animal' shifted 152,000 copies compared to the 93,000 units of Boyle's 'I Dreamed A Dream', according to Nielsen SoundScan.

76% of all sales of 'Animal' were digital downloads – the highest digital percentage share for an album at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Lady Gaga slipped to three with 'The Fame' shifting 66,000 copies, while Alicia Keys' 'The Elements Of Freedom' and Mary J. Blige's 'Stronger With Each Tear' were at 4 and 5 respectively.

Susan Boyles's 'I Dreamed A Dream' has so far sold over 6.5million copies globally, including 3.1million in the US.
