Wolfmother Unleash Second Album At Raucous London Show

August 13, 2009
Wolfmother Unleash Second Album At Raucous London ShowWolfmother showcased tracks from their forthcoming second album during a raucous show in London tonight (August 12).

The Australian band, led by frontman Andrew Stockdale, played a host of new songs from 'Cosmic Egg', including the lead single ‘New Moon Rising’.

The gig at the city’s Lexington venue also marked the first time Wolfmother’s new line up, which along with Stockdale consists of guitarist Aidan Nemeth, bassist Ian Peres and drummer Dave Atkins, has played in the UK.

Stockdale kept crowd interaction to a minimum during the one-and-a-half-hour show.

But that didn’t stop fans from reacting positively to Wolfmother's new tracks.

Along with their forthcoming single, the band’s set also included the new songs ‘California Queen’, ‘White Feather’ and ‘Cosmic Egg’.

The group also treated the audience to the standout songs from their self-titled debut album, including ‘Woman’ and ‘Joker and the Thief’.

Stockdale broke his silence midway through the show to announce that it was “good to be back”.

The group have been off the road for a year following the departure of co-founding members Chris Ross and Myles Heskett last August.

The intimate gig, which comes ahead of a full UK tour later this year, was preceded by a special ‘Cosmic Egg’ playback in Central London.

'Cosmic Egg' is due to be released in October.
