Ex-Iron Maiden Star Paul Di'Anno Jailed For Benefit FraudMarch 11, 2011
Former Iron Maiden singer Paul Di'Anno has been jailed after being found guilty of benefit fraud.
Di'Anno, 52 - real name Paul Andrews - admitted eight counts of benefit fraud at Salisbury Crown Court last month. He was sentenced today (March 11) to nine months in prison, but told he could walk free after four and a half months on conditional bail. Andrews was still performing live, despite claiming he suffered severe nerve damage to his back which prevented him from working, reports the Daily Mail. The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) launched an investigation after they spotted a YouTube video of him dancing at a live show in 2006. Footage was also unearthed dating back to 2004.
