Blur Manager: 'Duffy's Diet Coke Advert Was Abysmal'January 26, 2010
Blur's manager Chris Morrison has hit out at Duffy's Diet Coke advert calling it “abysmal.”
Morrison was speaking at the MIDEM music conference in Cannes about how musicians should think carefully before associating themselves with brands. "I think Duffy's Coca-Cola ad was abysmal and I think Robbie Williams on T Mobile was terrible,” he said. "I don't think either of those two things did any favours to the artists' careers or the way they're perceived. "I think you have to be very, very careful about how you associate with brands." According to the BBC he went on to say that some rock stars were in “great danger of music being 'corporatised'” Morrison went on to reveal that Blur's 'Song 2' has earned 20 times more from appearing on adverts than record sales.
