Busta Rhymes Describes Linkin Park Collaboration As 'Biggest Anthem'May 5, 2008
US rapper Busta Rhymes has described his collaboration with Linkin Park as “one of the biggest anthems” because it appeals “to the man”.
‘We Made It’, which is released in June, is the first time that the two acts have worked together. Speaking to MTV about the song, Rhymes said it felt so poignant because “it was speaking to the common man." “It wasn't exploiting what we usually exploit in hip-hop: the ass, throwing money, rims on the car,” he said. “At this time in my career, it felt like something was needed, something inspirational. It speaks to the man in the struggle from the 'hood to the upper echelon." Although Linkin Park have been involved in a mash-up with Jay-Z before, it’s the first time that the band have appeared on someone else’s record.
