The White Stripes' Album Sales Increase As Band Announce SplitFebruary 4, 2011
Sales of The White Stripes' albums have seen a dramatic increase since the band announced their split.
The band, who announced their split yesterday (February 3), have now seen a surge of album sales. According to Amazon, the band's 2010 live album and documentary 'Under Great White Northern Lights' have seen an increase of 2,644 percent on the site. Other albums of The White Stripes on Amazon's top-10 are 'White Blood Cells' and 'Elephant'. In a statement, Jack and Meg White said the decision to part company was not down to “artistic differences of lack of a wanting to continue”. Meanwhile, The White Stripes frontman Jack White produced Wanda Jackson's new album 'The Party Ain't Over'.
