December 31, 2010
Eurythmics' Annie Lennox Appointed OBE In New Year HonoursFormer Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox has been appointed an OBE in the New Years Honour.

The 56-year-old star, who recently released a new album, has been recognised for her work for fight Aids and poverty in Africa.

She said “as somewhat of a renegade” she was “genuinely honoured” to be made an OBE.

Meanwhile, record producer Trevor Horn, who has worked with the likes of Robbie Williams and Pet Shop Boys, is to be made a CBE.

In sport, referee Howard Webb, who took control of the World Cup Final, and golf major winner Graeme McDowell become MBEs.
