Brit Winners Foo Fighters Suing MarvelFebruary 25, 2008
Brit winners Foo Fighters have launched a lawsuit against Marvel for using their music without permission.
The Dave Grohl fronted band are seeking recompense from the company for using “substantial excerpts" of their songs ‘Best Of You’ and ‘Free Me’ to promote a new X-Men animated series. The band’s Los Angeles Superior Court action seeks unspecified amount in damages and attorneys' fees, as well as an injunction against the use of the tunes. However, Grohl demonstrated he still has some semblance of a sense of humour in a recorded acceptance speech for the Brits on Wednesday night when he sais it was, “an honour to be recognised alongside the likes of Huey Lewis and The News, Culture Club, MC Hammer and Kula Shaker."
