The Pixies and Beck Pay Tribute To Jay Reatard

Beck and the Pixies have both paid their respects to Jay Reatard who died aged just 29 yesterday.

Reatard – real name Jimmy Lee Lindsey Jr – was found dead in his bed at home in Midtown, Memphis at 3.30am local time yesterday morning.

A death investigation has been opened by Memphis police.

On his official website, Beck posted a photo of Reatard together with an MP3 of the late singer's cover his 2008 single 'Gamma Ray'.

Meanwhile, on the official Pixies Facebook page, the band wrote: "We want to express our condolences to the friends and family of Jay Reatard on his sudden passing today."
