Bruno Mars Planning UK Move After Singles Chart TriumphJanuary 17, 2011
Bruno Mars has revealed that he is considering moving to the UK after topping the singles chart with new track 'Grenade'.
The US star's single went straight in at number one at the weekend, shifting 149,834 copies. It is the biggest-selling single release in January since Babylon Zoo’s ‘Spaceman’ in 1996, which sold 383,000 copies. “[It’s] such a special place for me, I just love it out here. I think the people are great,” Mars said of his chart triumph. “It’s just this is where it’s at for me. I’m getting a house over here; I know it. That’s the next investment.” Mars’ second chart-topping single comes just two days after tickets for his first headlining UK tour sold out in minutes. The only other new entry inside the top-10 was JLS’s Tinie Tempah-featuring single ‘Eyes Wide Shut’, at number ten, according to the Official Charts Company. Rihanna remained at number one on the album chart for a third week with 'Loud'. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Bruno Mars Avoids Prison Over Cocaine Charge (17.02.2011)
