The Faces Want Reunion Tour 'To Happen, Badly'July 11, 2008
The Faces' plans to reform now look more concrete after the band's keyboardist Ian McLagan expressed his desire for it to happen.
Earlier this week Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood from the group reportedly met up at a posh London restaurant to discuss the move. Now things look more concrete after McLagan admitted the band are 'serious' about it. He told BBC6music: “I’ve wanted to for years and so has Woody and Kenny. Rod is now interested it seems and I’m real pleased about that, and he’s serious about it. I mean we’re trying to get it together, it’s just a question of schedules.” Asked when exactly the band hope to reconvene together, McLagan continued: “We’re hoping to get together later this year, just to get together, to play and then we may have some news - but I want it to happen, badly. It’s gonna be great if it does happen.” McLagan admitted that Rod Stewart has been the the hardest nut to crack out of the four surviving members. He explained to the station: “Rod hasn’t wanted to do it for a long time, he didn’t see the need in it, but I think he really wants to now, I think he wants to rock out. I think it’d be great, great for everybody.” McLagan said that they have a window of opportunity next year as Ronnie Wood's Rolling Stones have finished touring for the time being.
