Aretha Franklin To Make Stage Comeback In MayFebruary 17, 2011
Aretha Franklin will return to the stage at a concert in Buffalo, New York in May, it's been announced.
In November, the singer cancelled all public appearances after she was admitted to hospital to receive treatment for an undisclosed illness. Unconfirmed reports claimed she had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but Franklin refused to comment on the speculation. In an interview with the Associated Press, the singer said that she was recovering well and had revamped her diet. Last month, Franklin revealed that she sought medical help after having “a very hard pain in my side” during a concert in Toronto, Canada last year. Her comeback gig will take place at the Seneca Niagara Casino on May 28. On Sunday, Christina Aguilera and Florence Welch were among the stars who performed a tribute to Franklin at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
