Jedward 'Dropped By Sony After Flop Debut Single'March 16, 2010
John and Edward have been dropped by record label Sony after just one single, it's been reported.
The Irish twins – better known as Jedward – signed to the major label earlier this year following their success on The X Factor. But Sony bosses are understood to have been left disappointed by the performance of their debut single 'Under Pressure'. The track, which featured rapper Vanilla Ice, entered the UK chart at number two last month, but plummeted a week later to number 12. “We tried our best to make the lads credible recording artists but punters just weren't that bothered,” a source told The Sun. "They are great lads but haven't got the greatest voices, so they're something to see rather than listen to.” The 18-year-old duo, who are managed by X Factor judge Louis Walsh, are still scheduled to tour in April.
