Battles Announce New Album 'Gloss Drop' Featuring Gary Numan

February 25, 2011
Battles Announce New Album 'Gloss Drop' Featuring Gary NumanBattles have announced details of their new album 'Gloss Drop', set to arrive this summer.

The band's new album, which is the follow to their 2007 full-length debut 'Mirrored', is released on June 6.

The album includes a collaboration with Gary Numan on the song 'My Machines'. Other songs include 'Futura', 'Wall Street' and 'Ice Cream'.

'Gloss Drop' will be Battles first album since one of their founding members Tyondai Braxton quit the group last summer.

In a statement released at the time, Battles remaining members described his departure as “a sad but amicable split”. They suggested that Braxton's own commitments as a solo artist and desire not to tour was behind the decision.

The tracklisting for 'Gloss Drop' is:

  1. Africastle
  2. Ice Cream (Featuring Matias Aguayo)
  3. Futura
  4. Inchworm
  5. Wall Street
  6. My Machines (Featuring Gary Numan)
  7. Dominican Fade
  8. Sweetie & Shag (Featuring Kazu Makino)
  9. Toddler
  10. Rolls Bayce
  11. White Electric
  12. Sundome (Featuring Yamantaka Eye)
