Josh Farro: Paramore Christian Band Claim Is A 'Contradiction'

April 20, 2011
Josh Farro: Paramore Christian Band Claim Is A 'Contradiction'Former Paramore star Josh Farro has claimed that he group's claim that they were a Christian band was contradictory.

Farro quit Paramore along with his brother Zac in December following a fall-out with the other members of the band.

In an interview with Common Revolt, Farro was asked if he felt uncomfortable with the lyrics - "the truth never set me free, so I did it myself" - in the song 'Careful'.

"Paramore claimed to be a Christian band, and then wrote those lyrics. It contradicts your faith," Farro replied.

"Hayley (Williams, singer) always said it was meant to be 'your truth never set me free', but you know. If it was meant to be that, then why was it changed? It's kind of a sorry excuse.

He added: "It bummed me out, and obviously one of many reasons me and Zac walked away. We couldn't be happier where we are right now."

Josh and Zac have since gone on to form the band Novel American. They are currently recording their debut album.
