Green Day American Idiot Musical To Close In April

March 11, 2011
Green Day American Idiot Musical To Close In AprilThe Broadway musical American Idiot, which is based on the career of Green Day, is set to close next month.

The curtain will come down on the production on April 21 after over 400 performances at St James Theater in New York.

No official announcement for the show's closure was given, but it comes after ticket sales plummeted when Green Day star Billie Joe Armstrong's recent run in the show came to an end.

The singer will return for the last three weeks of the musical, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

American Idiot will go on tour across the US at the end of the year.
