Sugababes Amelle Berrabah Banned From Driving

October 8, 2010
Sugababes Amelle Berrabah Banned From DrivingSugababes star Amelle Berrabah has been banned from driving for 14 months.

The 26-year-old singer admitted driving with excess alcohol when she was arrested in the early hours of September 23.

Her lawyer told Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court in north London that Berrabah admitted her actions had been “exceptionally silly”.

As well as a ban, the singer was fined £2,000, reports BBC News.

Berrabah joined Sugababes as a replacement for Mutya Buena, who left in 2005.

As well as Berrabah, the girl-group also consists of Heidi Range and Jade Ewan - non of whom were among Sugababes’ original line-up.

The group released their latest album 'Sweet 7' earlier this year.
