X Factor's Matt Cardle, Take That Maintain UK Chart DominationDecember 23, 2010
X Factor winner Matt Cardle is on course to retain his position at the top of this weekend’s UK singles chart.
The singer’s song ‘When We Collide’, a cover of Biffy Clyro’s ‘Many of Horror’, has sold an additional 120,000 copies so far this week. The former painter and decorator has now sold a total of 560,000 copies in less than fourteen days, according to the Official Charts Company. Cardle faces competition from Katy B for the top spot, but the London singer is expected to fall short by the weekend. Meanwhile, in the album chart, Take That look set to remain at number one for a sixth week with ‘Progress’. The band, who have reunited with Robbie Williams, have now sold over 1.5million copies of their new album. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Robbie Williams 'Big Brother' To Princess Beatrice (12.04.2011)
