Carl Barat Still 'Cherishes Friendship With Pete Doherty'May 30, 2008
Former Libertines member and Dirty Pretty Things frontman Carl Barat has said that he still values his friendship with former band mate Pete Doherty.
Barat, who is currently preparing to release Dirty Pretty Things second album ‘Romance At Short Notice’, said he can imagine a day when the pair get back together. But he added that the reunion would have to involve recording a new album, otherwise it would simply be seen as a “glory-milker.” "Once I've done what I'm doing now [Dirty Pretty Things], it [reuniting with Doherty] won't be hard at all," he told the Independent. "It may detract in the short term from what I'm trying to achieve. It's certainly a friendship I cherish. But I want to let it be for a while. “A lot of my friends say you should only do a reunion if you're going to write a new album. I agree. Otherwise it's just a cash-cow, a glory-milker. I've still got a 'Libertine' tattoo on my arm." ‘Romance At Short Notice’ is scheduled for release next month. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Carl Barat Recording Solo Album (02.09.2009)
