Take That And JLS Set For Biggest Chart Battle Since Blur And OasisSeptember 28, 2010
Boy bands JLS and Take That are set to go head-to-head on the UK album chart in the run up to Christmas.
Both bands have scheduled to release their as-yet-untitled new albums on the same day, November 22. Take That's album will be their first with former bandmate Robbie Williams, who has rejoined the group, while JLS's will mark the follow-up to their 2009 self-titled debut. The former X Factor band's label boss Nick Raphael told The Sun the chart race had the potential to be “biggest battle since Oasis and Blur”. Both bands famously went up against each other in the singles charts in the mid-90s, with Blur coming out on top. Meanwhile, new albums by Justin Bieber and the late Michael Jackson are also scheduled for release around the same period.
