Owl City Deny Jedward UK Number One Single

February 8, 2010
Owl City Deny Jedward UK Number One SingleOwl City have topped the UK singles chart for a third week, denying Jedward of their debut number one.

The X Factor star’s song ‘Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby)’, which features Vanilla Ice, had to settle for second position.

The track had been tipped for number one, but the American synthpop group’s single ‘Fireflies’ held onto the summit.

The only other new entry in the countdown was Timbaland featuring Katy Perry’s 'If We Ever Meet Again' at number three.

Meanwhile, the album chart was topped by Alicia Keys’ ‘The Element Of Freedom’.

The record, up one place from number two last week, is the US singer’s first UK number one album.

It originally charted at number seventeen when it was released in December.

Dutch violinist Andre Rieu’s ‘Forever Vienna’ climbed two places to number two, according to the Official Charts Company.

There were also three new entries inside this week’s top-10.

Corinne Bailey Rae’s ‘The Sea’ charted at number five, ‘Animal’ by Keisha at number eight and Peter Andre was at number nine with ‘Unconditional Love Songs’.
