Phil Collins Needs Sellotape To Help Him Play Drums

Phil Collins has revealed that he requires sellotape to help him drum properly.

The former Genesis frontman now has to tape his sticks to his hands due to the side-effects of an injury he picked up on the band's reunion tour.

“It’s the only way I can play. It wasn’t particularly comfortable but I managed to get the right noise and the performance I wanted,” he told the Daily Star.

Collin, who is promoting his new album 'Going Back', went on to admit that his drumming wasn't as strong as it used to be.

“As far as I’m concerned I can’t play the drums anywhere near as well as I did,” he said.

“It may change and get better but it may not – all I can do is wait."

The singer and drummer's eighth studio album is released on Monday (September 13) and features covers of 60's Motown & Soul classics.
