Supergrass have announced that they are splitting up after 17 years together.
The group, who release six albums, will play a series of farewell shows this summer. In a statement, the band said: "Thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years. “We still love each other but, cliché notwithstanding, musical differences have led to us moving on." After forming in 1993, Supergrass achieved mainstream success in the mid-90s as part of the Britpop movement. Their most recent album 'Diamond Hoo Ha' was released in 2008. The announcement coincides with the news that drummer Danny Goffey is expecting his fourth child with wife Pearl Lowe. Tickets for Supergrass's farewell tour go on sale on Friday (April 16) at 9am.
