Beach Boys Announce New Single For Japan Earthquake VictimsApril 18, 2011
The Beach Boys are set to release a new 7" single to help raise money for the victims of the recent earthquake and Tsunami in Japan.
The single includes the song 'Don't Fight the Sea' and an unreleased acapella from a 1968 recording of the song 'Friends'. Al Jardine said: "We felt that the song had a nice basic message of friendship. I also like the idea of that song, because the vocals are a bit under appreciated. "So this release was a perfect place to showcase the idea of harmony and friendship." The single is released on April 19 and has been given the support of all four of the Beach Boys. The first one thousand records will be pressed on limited edition white vinyl, with a red label. The rest will be printed on limited edition black vinyl. All proceeds from sales of the single will go towards the American Red Cross. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Katy Perry Denies Beach Boys Lawsuit (06.08.2010)
