Bombay Bicycle Club: 'We're Glad Liam Gallagher Insulted Us'May 21, 2010
Bombay Bicycle Club have said it was “a good thing” that Liam Gallagher criticised them.
In March, the former Oasis star slammed the band, and took specific aim at their name. However, in an interview with XFM, singer Jack Steadman said they were unfazed by Gallagher’s remarks. “We were thinking about changing the name of our band before he said those things,” he said. “It was a quick solution. We didn’t think we’d ever have to worry about it or defend it – we were playing a gig and we just needed a name.” Steadman said that the insult also proved that Gallagher had noticed the group. “It’s a good thing to be insulted by Liam Gallagher. We’ve made it now,” he said. “We’re on his radar. He doesn’t say anything nice about bands. It’s good to get a mention.” Bombay Bicycle Club are set to release a new acoustic album, entitled 'Flaws', on July 12.
