Paul McCartney Joins Neil Young Onstage In LondonJune 28, 2009
Sir Paul McCartney made a surprise appearance alongside Neil Young at the Hard Rock Calling festival in London last night.
The former Beatle joined the singer onstage for a rendition of the band’s hit ‘A Day In The Life’, which closed Young’s set. Sir Paul placed his arm around Young as they shared vocals on the song, which he originally wrote with band mate John Lennon. At the end of the song, the two music legends played an impromptu performance on a xylophone before leaving the stage. Young’s set at that the event spanned his career, including the hits ‘Cinnamon Girl’, ‘Down By The River’ and ‘Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)’. Other performances on the second day of Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park came from Seasick Steve and Fleet Foxes.
