Bruno Mars Avoids Prison Over Cocaine ChargeFebruary 17, 2011
Bruno Mars has pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine but will not face jail after a judge agreed a plea deal.
The singer was arrested in a bathroom at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas last September. During a court appearance on Wednesday (February 16), Mars was given 12 months probation, a fine and 200 hours community service. The 25-year-old star was also ordered to attend drug counselling sessions. If the singer avoids trouble then the cocaine charge will be taken from his criminal record. On Sunday, Mars won Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for 'Just the Way You Are' at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
