Coldplay: 'We Weren't Afraid To Try Anything On New Album'April 14, 2008
Coldplay have revealed that they “weren’t afraid to try anything” on their new album ‘Viva La Vida’.
Released on June 16th, the band’s fourth album – which translated means Long Live Life – has been produced by Brian Eno and Markus Dravs. Frontman Chris Martin said that the group are still “obsessed with making songs that can be sung to the rafters”, although he added that they were “presented differently” on the new record. The band have also revealed that five songs - ‘Postcards From Far Away’, ‘Lukas’, ‘Rainy Day’, ‘The Goldrush’ and ‘Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground’ – have all failed to make the record. As yet, it’s not clear whether any of the songs will be released as b-sides. The full tracklisting for the album is:
