Chris Brown Due In Court Over Assault Claims

Chris Brown is due to appear in court later on allegations he assaulted a woman in Los Angeles, even though prosecutors have yet to file charges against the R&B singer.

Brown was arrested by police on February 8th following an alleged altercation with a woman, reported to be his girlfriend, singer Rihanna.

District Attorney's spokeswoman Jane Robison said Brown was due in court based on a date agreed after his arrest.

Police presented their case last month, but prosecutors are understood to have asked for more information.

Although the identity of the woman in the alleged attack has yet to be revealed, a photograph apparently of Rihanna, which showed the singer with facial injuries, appeared online shortly after the incident.

Rihanna has reportedly refused to testify against Brown after a reconciliation meeting with the singer in Miami over the weekend.

Brown has already issued a public apology over the reported incident. Rihanna has refused to comment.
