Calvin Harris Reveals Truth Behind 'Lost' Heathrow AlbumApril 22, 2009
Calvin Harris has revealed he lied about his new album being stolen in order to have more time to record it.
Last year, the producer claimed master copies of his second record had gone missing from his luggage while in transit at Heathrow Airport. At the time, Harris was offered £750 in compensation. But the producer has now revealed that he made the incident up - although he still claims his luggage did go missing. "The first tactic of delaying the album was pretending that I lost it at Heathrow. That one worked pretty well," Harris told Popjustice. "I should make it clear that they did in fact lose our bags – that is fact. But it was not true that the album was in them. “I would never check a hard drive in luggage. So the thing about Heathrow wasn't so much a lie, as…well…an untruth." A spokesman said last year that “months of work” had gone into the ‘missing’ album. Harris is currently number one on the UK singles charts with ‘I’m Not Alone’. His second album is due to be released later this year.
