The Streets Issue Apology To Newcastle Over 2011 UK TourNovember 10, 2010
The Streets have apologised to Newcastle after they omitted the city off their forthcoming UK tour.
In a video on YouTube, singer Mike Skinner said he had been inundated with complaints from fans and that they were working to arrange a date in the city. “Hello to Newcastle. It seems by The Streets you have been overlooked, and I am here to apologise,” Skinner said, before reading out the names of upset fans. “After a lengthy conversation with my management, we are going to do everything possible to be all up in your city next February. “It will mean that I don't get a day off in nine days but that is how I roll.” Skinner added that if the group did make it to Newcastle, he would “be sure to party” with footballers Andy Carroll and Kevin Nolan. As previously reported, The Streets will play 13 dates on the Computers And Blues tour, which will coincide with the release of their new album.
