Britney Spears 'Forced To Re-Record Controversial Single'January 19, 2009
Britney Spears has been forced to re-record her new single over a set of controversial lyrics, according to reports.
US radio programmers had raised concerns over the meaning behind the song 'If You Seek Amy', which when sung by Spears sounds like “F U C K me”. In the re-recorded version, Spears is understood to have dropped the 'K' and renamed the song, 'If You See Amy', reports The Sun newspaper. Although single-word profanities are normally dubbed out for radio, Spears' song could technically have avoided censorship because it doesn't contain offensive language. As previously reported, the song generated anger in Australia last December when it appeared on the singer's comeback album, 'The Circus'.
