Bow Wow: 'Chris Brown Arrest Won't Harm His Career'

US rapper Bow Wow has said he doesn't expect Chris Brown's recent arrest to harm his music career.

Brown was questioned by police earlier this month following a complaint of assault from an unnamed woman, reported to be his girlfriend, Rihanna.

The singer has already been dropped from a number of endorsement deals, and has also apparently been “erased” from the promotional campaign for a forthcoming movie.

Speaking to MTV, Bow Wow, a close friend of Brown, said the singer's fans should understand that Brown is only human.

"I just want people to know that as entertainers, our job is to entertain,” he said.

"We're not perfect. We put our pants on the same way everybody else puts their pants on."

Despite his friendship with Brown, Bow Wow said he had yet to contact the singer because he didn't want to bother him.

"I always like to put myself in people's shoes,” he said. “I understand probably what he's going through by the whole world knowing what happened.

“I don't want to be another [person] calling him and wanting to talk to him."

Rihanna, who is currently on holiday Mexico, has said she won't comment on Brown's arrest.
