Bob Dylan Song To Appear In Co-Op AdvertJanuary 28, 2009
Bob Dylan's 'Blowin' In The Wind' is to appear in a new advert for the Cooperative Group, it's been announced.
The 1963 song will help promote the company's travel, legal and funeral services. It is the first time Dylan has allowed on of his songs to be used in an advertising campaign. A spokesman for his record label, Sony, said the Co-op's ethical stance had played a major role in persuading the singer to sanction the song's use. "He has a career based on surprising people, on people not being able to second-guess him,” the spokesman said. “He continues to embrace change and embrace change in music.” 'Blowin' In The Wind' originally appeared on Dylan's 1963 album 'The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan'.
