Blur's Alex James To Host Radio Show From His Cheese FarmSeptember 16, 2009
Blur bassist Alex James is to co-host the breakfast show on radio station BBC 6 Music this Friday (September 18).
Regular host Shaun Keaveny will join James on his cheese farm in Oxfordshire from 7.30am. On Thursday night, the pair are set to play a Blur album and a Bach concerto to two chickens in a bid to see which one lays the best eggs. The results will be broadcast during the show on Friday when the pair cook the eggs for breakfast. James turned to cheese-making after the release of Blur's last album 'Think Tank' in 2003. In November 2008, the bassist's first matured cheese, Little Wallop, was awarded a silver at the Cheese of the Year awards James has also released a cheese called Blue Monday, which is named after the New Order track of the same name. And it was recently revealed that the bassist was in the process of making a new cheese for the Prince of Wales' Duchy of Cornwall estate. James joined the rest of his Blur bandmates back on the road this summer for the Britpop group's reunion tour. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Blur To Release Full Album In 2011 (20.12.2010)
