Kaiser Chiefs: 'Blur Reunion Is Brilliant'December 11, 2008
Kaiser Chiefs drummer Nick Hodgson has described Blur's recent reunion as “brilliant” - and admitted they would like to support the band.
“I'm very pleased - normally I hate reunions - this doesn't feel like a reunion,” he told BBC Newsbeat. Blur's original line up announced earlier this week that they were to reform next year for a series of shows, headed by a huge concert at London's Hyde Park in July. Hodgson said he was pleased with the band's decision because “it actually feels like unfinished business and they've actually got something to do it for.” He added: "They've actually reunited as opposed to got back together for a load of cash. "I think the Stone Roses could do the same thing. This doesn't feel like a reunion like the sort of cash-in one's which I think that have been happening." In Blur's absence, Kaiser Chiefs have often been lauded as the UK's chief indie export - albeit a less successful one. Hodgson said he would like Kaiser Chiefs to support the band at Hyde Park but added: "I don't think we'll get asked."
