Damon Albarn: 'Blur Reunion Is Very Possible'November 6, 2008
Damon Albarn has given his strongest indication yet about the possibility of a full Blur reunion.
"It's very possible I'll go back to Blur, it really is very possible,” Albarn said in an interview with the BBC. The frontman said that he and former guitarist Graham Coxon had been “hanging out together” and had recently shared lunch. Coxon left the band in 2002 in order to follow his ambition to be a solo artist, although Blur still continued to record without him. In an interview with Gigwise last year, bassist Alex James revealed exclusively that the group, along with drummer Dave Rowntree, were meeting for lunch. A post on their website later stated that after an “enjoyable lunch” there were no “other music plans for Blur”. Albarn, who also confirmed he was half way through recording a new album with his Gorillaz side project, said he was enjoying seeing Coxon again. "He's great, it's fantastic to get my old friend back. So it's good but I can't really say any more than that,” he said. Blur's last album was 2003's 'Think Tank'.
