June 7, 2010
Ex-Stereophonics Drummer Stuart Cable Dies Aged 40 - Twitter TributesTributes have been paid online to former Stereophonics drummer Stuart Cable, who died today (June 7) aged 40.

Cable’s body was found at his home at Llwydcoed near Aberdare in the early hours of this morning.

Musicians and celebrities have been remembering the drummer on Twitter.

Singer Cerys Matthews said: “I am so sad and shocked at the news about Stuart Cable. He was such generous company and will be missed terribly. My love goes to his family.”

BBC Radio 1 breakfast DJ Chris Moyles said he was “very shocked” to hear of the drummer’s death.

“Terribly sad news about Stuart Cable, such a lovely, warm, funny, talented man,” he added.

Fellow Welshman and Gavin and Stacey actor Rob Brydon said: "Terribly sad news about Stuart Cable, such a lovely, warm, funny, talented man.”

Pritchard, of the MTV show Dirty Sanchez, said: “Can't believe Stuart cable's been found dead. Rest in peace my friend.”

Manic Street Preachers and fans of Cardiff City football club - Cable’s favourite team - have also left tributes.

Cable was one of the original members of Stereophonics, but was sacked in 2003.

He went on to forge a successful career in the media, presenting programmes on Kerrang Radio and XFM South Wales.
