Ray Davies Wants The Kinks To ReformApril 12, 2011
Ray Davies has revealed that he wants The Kinks to reform.
The singer has said that the band are ready for a reunion any time soon. "I'm seeing Dave next week. I hear that Dave is saying stuff in the press like, 'I'll do it, but Ray doesn't want to do it.' This is me saying, 'Ray will do it if Dave does it," Ray Davies told Rolling Stone. He added: "Our plans always weave in and out of peoples' health trauma. A reunion is possible. There's nothing in the pipeline yet, but...we'll see. It's possible." The band came close to reuniting in their original line-up in the early 00s but the plan was dismissed when bassist Peter Quaife developed kidney problems and later passed away in 2010. Meanwhile, Ray Davies will be joined by Madness and Yo La Tengo at this year's Meltdown festival in London. (by Holly Frith) See also: Ray Davies To Curate Meltdown Festival 2011 (25.11.2010)
